We will spend some time learning about the importance of student representation during your classroom read aloud and where to begin when choosing diverse books. We will explore a variety of diverse picture books through book talks. If you are a fellow self-proclaimed book lover, your favorite part of the session may be the time dedicated for you to look through newer books! Participants will walk away with new book titles to try out in the classroom and an understanding of why students need mirrors and windows in books.
